Is/Was/Will it always be the Almighty or is/was/will always be what the events of our life brings us through!

you are God or are you the one people wanna call you as One greater entity?

Is that you who were speaking through the pangs of guilt or was it our mere simple paranoia? Perhaps we were up to things who we shouldn't been up to.

The flood of life is immense I think sometimes we are the masters as we administer that power for the good and bad of life.

I saw you laying not far from me in a dream and yet I was scared of your sight.

We blame one another for things we shouldn't blame each other for and what is it for?

We don't sleep and feel your presence but is it really you or our mind playing tricks on us?

There's been far too many theories lurking over the essence of you but do you exist and in what form do you exist if you really do?

They saw you lying not far from me but they ran away or ran out of luck because they didn't want to see you?!

It was a strange place full on entertainment ranged well from chaos to disturbing happenings like throwing bottles to one another people and then the crowd I decided to run off with vanished like they were never meant to be in the first place.

The way laid down to a subterranean crypt how more spooky could that be? That was when the guys who I ran off with disappeared all at once as well as the guy who had a pony tail who resembled Jesus Christ.

I saw you laying not far from me in a dream and yet I was scared of your sight.

I saw a cross forming from a giant packet of cigarettes laying down low in front of my very eyes then this packet turned into the cross itself and a phosphorescent yellow eyes Jesus radiated the whole crypt.

I went asking forgiveness and the man said to me I BEG YOU NOT TO CALL MY NAME!

Most of all of that went in the dream I then woke later with the light blinding my eyes and spent the whole day thinking and feeling a sense of holy possession and psychic powers!

How to be a Spontaneous Singer/Songwriter

A few tips on my idea of finding ground of thoughts over the music essence.

Right when someone asks me ''Al how did you come up with this idea for this song?'' The answer is rather simple, I fuel my mondane life's activity into a spiral sense of creativity in a way that something like i.e. They would want me to go and find my way of doing my job that can also become an element of a song perhaps more linked to a possible chorus the melody or verse can be an overlayed rifle of many random thoughts that somehow connect to the above underlined sentence.

I guess the best and most interesting way that I find a song from my heart and soul is when I begin strumming my guitars when all in the sudden totally improptu sentences explode from my mind, in this specific trance-ish moment I play this song as it comes and record on mini disk or play and transcribe over a writing pad.

When it comes to songwriting the majority of the folks all over the world they seem to forget an important factor: a song is more of a rough playful colored canvas than a poem, never I'd try to sit down and force my very mind to write lines out the thoughts have gotta set through instantly just like meeting a pal of mine and just do the talk with no limits so the song should be.

When is it best to let this mind free of so many ideas? Perhaps after a hard time at work, with dealing with family chores, with the departure of a parent whether that is a death of them or not seeing us for a while, a stimulating chat with a friend work coolegue and/or a customer, a journey to a certain diverse town city and country, whatever the idea comes from has gotta be honest. In my whole world I'd never be able to compose a truely happy song usually songs come to me in a pretty ironic sarcastic and dark contents but then I'm able to filter with the sound of my voice these emotions/state of the mind and boom somehow a happy tone of my voice come accross. There's obviously lot more to write but by now I believe you've got a clue of what I'm saying to you.......

GIANT SAND

Giant Sand is without any doubts a North American band that started at the beginning of the 80s and I only began to listen to them right at the end of the 80s.
Giant Sand went from strength to strength since their first release called ''Valley Of Rain''. I guess we can spot straightaway since the start that regardless the fact that Howe Gelb the most eccentric and pioneering front man of the band presented us with a rough kind of uplifting punk rock a' la Johnny Thunders blended with Neil Young's influences and traces offolk music. HOWE had indeed lot more to offer as years went by.
The first album ''Valley Of Rain''was issued in 1985 but thesong from youtube I've just uploaded is part of the Cover Magazine album which got recorded at the start back in 2002. We can spot the two Calexico musicians who once were part of Giant Sand - John Covertino on drums and Joey Burns on stand up bass on the cover Johnny Hit and Run Pauline with a fantastic vocal performance by the genius of Paula Jean Harvey. Obviously there's plenty more to talk about butGiant Sand.com is a real mind opener and a milestone achievement into the worlds of Howe Gelb's music and his extended blast-sanded family - it must be said that is great stuff/music for all occasions.

GUY KYSER ONCE THIN WHITE ROPE'S FRONT BUD THEN LATER MUMMYDOGS ONE WITH HIS WIFE!

I'd have never told that GUY was gonna hitch us back with a new and more amazin'album in 2002 oh well he did and with a vengence with his most powerful tool his gritty raucous vocal!

I never thought GUY was gonna get back to such levels as prior he once was with THIN WHITE ROPE who I was introduced to with his song Down In The Desert but he displayed greatly with his guitar as well accomplished fantastically by his wife's keys and more.......You've gotta check it out and you'll see to it yourself.

I talked to someone online yesterday about the affinity with the WALKABOUTS yep it's all there not only but for a muso who origined from/was part of the Paisley Underground scene all this is a bit obvious but having ditched the business for almost 10years then getting back to it with the same energy is like oh man we wanna hear you even more!

So from the 80s to nowdays and yet GUY KYSER has it all apart from the success but check this out and give him credit that he's possibly one of the best ones in within the music sub-genres.

This song was what introduced me to GIANT SAND

back at the end of the 80s and yet their music still rules

and it stands the test of time in all meanings after so long.

It's in new wavey style mixed perhaps with an insane arrangement

and unfortunately this video hasn't done much justice to HOWE

GELB but yet this tracks was a milestone for even better things

Oh waho this song marks a special moment of my life back in Rome Italy!

Why's that ye wonder?! Well during that time U2 were real hype over southern

Europe but to be honest with ye I'd never agree with the screamos BONO and

the audience too.Then one afternoon I was on my own watching video music an

italian 24hours TV channel and Columbus,Under The Milky Way and Tentalised

they were all shown the same day.All of those three showed a very creative unit

of musos that their main intent was to blend intensity with laidback waves and

The breakthrough 1988 album by The Church, Starfish has remained the

band's most commercially successful release. The first single, "Under The

Milky Way", charted well into the American Top 40,peaking at #24 and #2

on Mainstream Rock Tracks leading to significant exposure of the then

relatively underground Australian act Recorded/produced in Los Angeles

by L.A. session musicians Waddy Wachtel and Greg Ladanyi, the recording

is more sparse and open than its predecessor, Heyday. Many of its songs have

seen heavy rotation in live setlists, and the album remains a favorite among

many fans. Band members repeatedly noted how much they disliked being in

Los Angeles during the recording sessions; "North, South, East And West" is

an indictment of L.A.'s shallow aspects.The album's title was taken from singer/

bassist Steve Kilbey's nickname for friend/ musical partner Donnette Thayer. Kilbey

also contributed a long untitled poem in the album's liner notes."Hotel Womb" has

dream/nightmare-themed lyrics pertaining to cannibalism.Music videos were filmed for

"Under The Milky Way" and "Reptile."Two songs were used in episodes of the U.S.

television show Miami Vice. "Under The Milky Way" was used in an episode called

"Asian Cut" (aired Jan. 13, 1989), and "Blood Money" was used in "Heart Of Night"

WHY DO I LOVE MY FAVED FORUM HUH!?

It must've been roughly 5 years ago today well how about yesterday then buddies?! I just kinda got lumbered on searching for UNCLE TUPELO a band that I then discovered ooh yeaps well away from the so-called www.altcountrytab.com/forum from my local town record shop called Andy Records. Stepping back into altcountry anyhows it must be said that due to my silly lack of confidence couldn't work out a way to call meself so decided to have albert as my username but then the blue inky was part of my great ranky in that place like charky and the most notable appreciating fellows can/could tell about.....it!

Why do I love my faved altcountry forum? Well for start the music is most times well satisfying secondly the bunter is way ridiculous to the point of pure sheer perfected hysteria thirdly it's a good way to make new buddies too we're more than invisible at altcountry we're under the crazy wrap humans sensitive and sensible!

Well this might go on and on so I leave it to later okay!?

Actor accepts Spirit awards' best male lead prize with rambling, expletive-laden speech.

Mickey Rourke set the standard for over-the-top acceptance speecheson the eve of tonight's Oscars ceremony when his film The Wrestler won three prizes at the Spirit independent film awards last night.

The 56-year-old star of The Wrestler, who is in line for the best actor Academy Award, was named best male lead. Celebrating victory, Rourke kissed the film's director, Darren Aronofsky, on the lips and gave a meandering speech during which he recalled time spent in police cells a decade ago, urged Hollywood to give his friend Eric Roberts another chance, and paid tribute to his recently deceased Chihuahua dog, Loki. "This is for you, baby," he declared.

The Wrestler won awards for best feature and for the cinematography of its French camerawoman, Maryse Alberti. Winners of the Spirit festival have frequently gone on to earn an Oscar for the same performance. Rourke and Sean Penn, nominated for his portrayal of a gay Californian politician in Milk, are tipped as favourites for Academy awards tonight.

In his expletive-laden speech, Rourke thanked his co-star Marisa Tomei, who plays an exotic dancer, saying "not many girls can climb the pole, and she did it well".

Rourke, who plays a down-on-his-luck professional wrestler named Randy "The Ram" Robinson, received a standing ovation as he made his way to the stage.

The film's director, Darren Aronofksy, told reporters that he hoped to work with Rourke again. "I've been joking with him I'm going to wait five years till he screws it up again, and then come back and reinvent him," Aronofsky said.

The Spirit awards, held in a large tent near the Santa Monica beach in California, celebrate independent, low-budget filmmaking. Eligible films must be at least 70 minutes long and the cost of the completed movie has to be less than $20m.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona also won twice – for director Woody Allen's screenplay and for Spanish actor Penelope Cruz's supporting role.

The ceremony's host, the British comedian Steve Coogan, joked that a new category would be created in Allen's honour – "best girl-on-girl action described as art".

A sure guide to films certain to avoid Oscar glory is the Golden Raspberries or Razzies, the spoof prizes for the worst Hollywood movies of the year.

The selecting panel takes into account votes by the public. This year's winners, announced last night, were dominated by the Mike Myers comedy flop The Love Guru. He won in the category of worst actor and worst screenplay.

Pierce Brosnan won the worst supporting actor title for Mamma Mia!, and Paris Hilton grabbed three awards – for worst actress in The Hottie & the Nottie, worst supporting actress in Repo: The Genetic Opera and as part of the worst screen couple in The Hottie & the Nottie.

Every time I went on explaining anything related to the matter especially if one finds themselves in a small town it's like talking double dutch and yet the alt country is indeed a sub genre of country.

If you try to play a lap steel in a town smaller than Cambridge and you're not an oldie fellow they think of you bein'rather and eccentric or a weirdo kinda fellow.

Well GIANT SAND is my thing and they've been like that for last twenty years funny enough I was introduced to this band's music not by and english chap but by an italian who spoke more eloquently than I and we found one another in a church choir.

I see time is up for grabs per usual but I'll keep ye posted in all matters of music and more life definitions.
